Effective date: 19 September 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Lara (also called LaraBot) at larabot.co, a personal expense companion operated by Stennir Inc., a Delaware (USA) corporation ("we," "us," or "our"). By using Lara, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
Merchant of Record: Paid plans are billed by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record, under the seller name Lamma. Paddle's terms also apply to checkout and payment.
Lara is a personal expense tracking and education tool. You log expenses by sending messages on WhatsApp or Telegram — including text, voice notes, and receipt photos — and our system categorises, stores, and summarises what you sent.
Channels:
Twilio is the current default WhatsApp provider. Meta's WhatsApp Cloud API may be used later; it is not the default today.
The Service includes:
Lara does not connect to bank accounts, does not use Plaid, does not hold or move money, does not process financial transactions other than subscription payments via Paddle, and does not access any financial institution on your behalf. All expense data is entered by you.
IMPORTANT: Lara is an educational expense tracking tool. It is not a financial advisor, investment advisor, broker, bank, or any form of regulated financial institution.
Any insights, observations, summaries, or commentary generated by Lara — including Consistency Scores, spending pattern analysis, and monthly reports — are provided for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute:
When the Service comments on spending habits or budgets, those are general educational statements, not personalised recommendations. You should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
We are not registered with, licensed by, or regulated by any financial regulatory authority in any jurisdiction.
Lara identifies you by your phone number (WhatsApp) or your Telegram identity. There is no traditional username/password account. Phone numbers are hashed (SHA-256) for identification and stored in an encrypted lookup for outbound messaging. Last-four digits may appear in operational logs and, on Family accounts, to admins managing members. Claude does not receive your phone number.
You must be at least 18 years old to open a Lara account or pay for a plan. A person aged 16 or 17 may use Lara only as a member of a Family plan, when invited by an adult account owner who is their parent or legal guardian and who takes responsibility for that seat. Lara is not for anyone under 16. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements; an account owner who invites a 16- or 17-year-old to a Family plan represents that they are that person's parent or legal guardian.
Live prices (USD). Annual prices are 12 × monthly × 0.80 (20% off):
| Plan | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 15 expenses per month after the trial ends |
| Plus | $4.99 / month ($47.88 / year) | Unlimited logging, summaries, limited exports and receipt parses |
| Pro | $9.99 / month ($95.88 / year) | Voice notes, recurring expenses, web dashboard, unlimited exports |
| Family | $14.99 / month ($143.88 / year) | Up to 6 seats; every member gets Pro-equivalent features on a shared budget |
New accounts receive a 14-day full-Pro trial, measured from the account's created_at timestamp — not a Plus-only trial. No credit card is required. After 14 days, the account reverts to Free (15 expenses/month) unless you subscribe.
If your account created_at date is before 12 May 2026, you keep free Pro access. That grandfathering is tied to the original account, not a new number you create later.
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of your first subscription payment. Contact support@larabot.co within 14 days of your first payment. We will issue a full refund within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal request. See our Refund Policy.
You agree not to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you are violating these rules.
You own your data. Expense entries, budgets, goals, and other personal financial data you input belong to you. We do not claim ownership of your data.
By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to process, store, and analyse your data solely to provide and improve the Service. This includes sending the text of your messages and the full receipt photos you send to an AI model (Anthropic) for categorisation and report generation, and sending voice-note audio to a transcription model (OpenAI).
We may use anonymised, aggregated data (e.g., average spending by category across users) to improve the Service. This data cannot be traced back to you individually.
You can export your data via PDF or Excel reports.
Lara is an AI assistant, not a person. It uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude) to parse expenses and receipt photos, generate reports, and provide spending commentary, and OpenAI's Whisper to transcribe voice notes. You acknowledge that:
Lara is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
We strive to keep Lara available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
We are not responsible for delays or failures in message delivery caused by WhatsApp, Telegram, or Twilio.
You can stop using Lara at any time. To request deletion, send delete my data and confirm by typing yes, delete everything. That flow best-effort cancels Paddle billing, unlinks Family, deletes personal rows we can reach, and resets the user record so you can re-onboard. It does not silently erase the user row. Some logs may remain without your phone. Request remaining erasure at privacy@larabot.co. See the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lara, its operator, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
For EU/UK consumers: Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence. If you are an EU or UK consumer, you benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you reside, and nothing in these Terms takes away or limits your rights as a consumer under those laws.
Before filing any formal legal action, first try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting support@larabot.co. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. You may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
For users outside the EU/UK, disputes shall be resolved by the courts of England and Wales, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify active users via WhatsApp or Telegram at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were last revised.
Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and may request deletion of your data as described above.
